Prime Minister Narendra Modi today held a high-profile roundtable with CEOs of top American technology companies focusing on innovation, collaboration and India’s growing technology sector. The meeting, held at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel, was part of PM Modi’s three-day visit to the US, his second stop in New York.
The roundtable, hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) School of Engineering, brought together leaders from companies specializing in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, semiconductors, and biotechnology.
The roundtable included prominent CEOs such as Google’s Sundar Pichai, Nvidia’s Jensen Huang, and Adobe’s Shantanu Narayen.
In a post on his Twitter account, Prime Minister Modi said, “Had a productive roundtable with tech CEOs in New York where we discussed technology, innovation and more. We also highlighted the progress India has made in this space. It is great to see so much optimism towards India.”

The roundtable focused on cutting-edge areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), quantum computing, biotechnology and semiconductor technology, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a statement.
“The CEOs along with the Prime Minister delved deep into the evolving technology landscape at the global level and how these cutting-edge technologies are contributing to the well-being of people across the world, including in India. They also touched on how technology is being leveraged for innovations that have the potential to revolutionise the global economy and human development,” the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.
On Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Prime Minister emphasised that it is India’s policy to promote ‘AI for all’ based on ethical and responsible use.
Prime Minister Modi also reassured the CEOs of India’s strong commitment to protecting intellectual property and fostering an environment conducive to technology-driven innovation.Noting that India has the potential to become the world’s third largest economy, the Prime Minister urged business leaders to capitalize on India’s growth trajectory.
The meeting also explored investment opportunities in India’s burgeoning startup ecosystem, where technological innovation is accelerating. Startups were seen as a critical bridge for U.S. companies to enter the Indian market and contribute to the creation of new technologies and solutions.
MIT Professor Ananta Chandrakasan, who chaired the session, thanked PM Modi and the participating CEOs for their contributions. He affirmed MIT’s ongoing commitment to leveraging technology for the global good and advancing US-India collaboration in critical technology areas.
