This weekend, the Texas Tech football team will host Cincinnati in the Red Raiders’ second Big 12 game of the season. Coach Joey McGuire’s team is coming off a 3-1 record this season after defeating Arizona State, 30-22.
The same goes for Cincinnati, of course. In fact, some would argue the Bearcats have already nearly matched preseason expectations in terms of wins.
But there’s some question as to how strong Cincinnati’s three wins this year have been: in the season opener, they beat FCS program Townson, 38-20;
Then, in Week 2, the Bearcats blew a 21-point lead to regional rival Pittsburgh in a 28-27 loss. A week later, in their first away game of the year, the Bearcats beat Miami (Ohio) 27-16.
Then last weekend, Cincinnati beat a terrible Houston team, 34-0, in their Big 12 opener. So the three teams Cincinnati has beaten this season have a combined record of just 2-9.
That’s why it’s hard to gauge whether the Bearcats are as tough as their record suggests, although of course a win this week in Lubbock would boost their case.
Needless to say, Red Raiders fans will be tuning in to watch this Big 12 matchup as the school searches for its 601st career win. So let’s take a look at all the broadcast and game information.
