The National Governors Association Best Practices Center (NGA Center), in partnership with the Schultz Family Foundation and the Annie E. Casey Foundation, will help states and territories develop work-to-career pathways as an economic tool. A policy academy has been launched to support the project. Opportunities in key areas, especially for young people from historically underrepresented or marginalized communities. States and territories are being asked to form an interagency team, led by the governor’s office, to apply for grants of up to $50,000 and technical assistance over 12 months. The state team will receive support to implement the proposed scope of work. Participate in a technical assistance curriculum designed to meet the needs of the Policy Academy Group. Participate in multiple virtual and in-person peer learning opportunities. In addition to the Policy Academy, the NGA Center will also support the Volunteer-to-Career Pathway Community of Practice for states and territories interested in participating in bi-monthly virtual programming. Be invited to the culminating meeting of the project. Access ad hoc technical assistance and structured peer-to-peer engagement.
Policy Academy period: January 2025 to December 2025
Eligibility: All U.S. states, federal states, and territories in good standing with NGA are eligible to apply.
