Solange Knowles has shared an update on her health.
The singer, 38, commented on fellow musician Sean Ross, 33,’s Instagram post this week, revealing that he had been diagnosed with multiple diagnoses in 2018. In it, he spoke candidly about his life with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS). The long-term impact of the new coronavirus.
According to the Mayo Clinic, POTS “affects the autonomic nervous system, which controls involuntary bodily functions such as heart rate and blood pressure.”
In the comments section of the Oct. 14 post, Knowles said she has been diagnosed with the condition as well as Sjögren’s disease and mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS).
According to the Mayo Clinic, Sjögren’s syndrome is “a disorder of the immune system identified by the two most common symptoms: dry eyes and dry mouth,” and the National Institutes of Health describes MCAS as “a disorder in which mast cells mistakenly become overactive.” The effects of the chemicals are said to be “released in large amounts” and cause symptoms on the skin, gastrointestinal tract, heart, respiratory system, and nervous system. ”

Knowles wrote, “Sending so much love and strength to Sean and everyone in the comments who are battling the debilitating, confusing and isolating symptoms of POTS!”
“I was diagnosed with POTS, Sjögren’s, and Mcas in 2018, but I feel strongly that I don’t want my health to be my identity,” she added.
In her message, Knowles gave a shoutout to the nonprofit organization Dysautonomia International. According to its website, the organization “seeks to improve the lives of people living with autonomic nervous system disorders through research, physician education, public awareness, and patient empowerment programs.” ”
“The good people at @dysautonomiaintl have been such an amazing resource for me. I’m so grateful to the Spoonie community for supporting me during a completely uncertain time! Sending you lots of love!” Knowles concluded I attached it.
Ross wrote, “Thank you so much Solange. You’ve known me since I was a teenager and you knew how energetic I was. This is definitely a lot of me trying to get through this once and for all.” It has completely changed my perspective. I am so grateful. I send you my love.” ❤️. ”

Knowles hasn’t talked much about his health journey, but in December 2017, he appeared at South Africa’s Afropunk Fest due to dysautonomia, which he had been “quietly treating.” He revealed that he had to cancel his New Year’s Eve performance. For the past 5 months.
In a since-deleted post, the musician wrote: “[This]hasn’t been an easy journey for me…Sometimes I feel cool and sometimes I feel not cool at all.”
She said at the time that her diagnosis was “complex” and did not specify what type of autonomic neuropathy she had been diagnosed with, explaining, “I’m still learning a lot myself.”
Knowles also canceled his performance at Florida State University’s homecoming concert in November 2017, citing a “medical condition,” a statement shared by WTXL confirmed at the time.
