Today, during its scheduled September meeting, the Spokane Regional Board of Health (BOH) postponed a decision on whether to cancel or continue Step 2 of the Spokane Regional Health District (SRHD) Treatment Services Feasibility Study. agreed to do so. They adjourned to the October BOH meeting. This decision concerns the possibility of separating therapeutic services from SRHD.
SRHD Superintendent Dr. Alicia Thompson presented the findings collected in Step 1 of the three-phase study. This includes feedback from SRHD staff and clients, community partners, unions, and other opioid treatment services and programs.

After hearing Mr. Thompson’s presentation of the Phase 1 findings, the BOH will provide additional operational information regarding treatment services, including a business plan, to be considered at the next BOH meeting scheduled for October 31, 2024. requested.
