You can enter by Saturday night. Tomorrow night, Sports Director Travis Lee will appear on the full edition of Blitz 8. However, Week 6 started earlier this week with four games being played in our area. In the Southern “C”, Fryeburg Academy looked to increase its win total against Brunswick. On the Raiders’ first drive of the game, quarterback Benny Arnason threw a screen pass to Jagger Hellwig, who ran in for a touchdown to make it 7-0 Freiburg. Ty Boone will remember the second quarter for the Raiders. He started the game with a rushing touchdown and then returned two punts for scores in that quarter. Freiburg Academy won 47-6. They are now 5 and 1 years old and are scheduled to have Wells next Friday. Eight-man football will be hosted by Grayley New Gloucester. The Rangers start scoring in the first quarter. Wes Piper takes the handoff and goes 48 yards to a touchdown to give Greeley an 8-0 lead. Jackson Justice scored from 5 yards left in the second quarter to take a 14-0 lead. Late in the first half, Gray responded when Kobi Conant threw a touchdown pass to Cody Tracy, but Greeley won 38-22. They are 5 and 1. Winthrop remains undefeated in Class D with a 35-8 home win over Mountain Valley. And in Class “A,” Oxford Hills scored a cross-border thriller victory. The Vikings won 18-17 in double overtime against Portsmouth New Hampshire. Oxford Hills has won three straight. In high school field hockey this afternoon, Cheverus hosted Noble. Stags Control’s team played from the start but didn’t score until the second quarter when Lucy Johnson flicked the goalie. A few minutes later, Samantha DeGeorge sends a ball toward the cage and Zoe Radford knocks it in. Cheverus won 7-0 and remained undefeated. The Cheverus girls soccer team also came home to take on Bonnie Eagle. Late in the first half, the Scotsman and Cheverus goalkeeper Evelyn Rush punched the ball away. Moments later, Rush slipped and Charlotte (Bole You) Beaulieu scored for Bonnie Eagle.
