The NFL announced Tuesday that Super Bowl XI will be held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons, in 2028.
This is the fourth time that Atlanta will host the Super Bowl, and the first time since 2019.
Atlanta previously hosted the tournament in 1994 (Super Bowl XXVIII – Cowboys over Bills), 2000 (Super Bowl XXVI – Rams over Titans), and 2019 (Super Bowl LIII – Patriots over Rams).
The Super Bowl between the Patriots and Rams was the first “big game” to be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which opened in 2017. The 1994 and 2000 games were played at the Georgia Dome.
Atlanta accepting the task of hosting Super Bowl XI means the NFL is planning four Super Bowls in the future.
New Orleans and Caesars Superdome will host this season’s game on February 9, 2025. Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California will host the event on February 8, 2026, and SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California will host the event on February 14, 2027. .
Atlanta was announced as the 2028 host site, but the NFL did not say when the game would be held.
