New Delhi:
Actor Parvin Dabas was admitted to the intensive care unit at Bandra Hospital in Mumbai after he was involved in a road accident on Saturday morning. His wife, actress Preeti Jhangiani, has given an update on his health. She revealed that Parvin Dabas has suffered a concussion. “He has dizziness, double vision, drowsiness, nausea and other signs of concussion. He is not able to speak much. Thankfully, his medical reports, MRI and CT scan have been clear. He will remain hospitalised for another week and will be out of the intensive care unit soon. Another CT scan will be done in three days,” Preeti told Hindustan Times.
Sharing her family’s reaction to the accident, Preeti Jhangiani added, “It is a shock. We are still dealing with the shock mentally. He is usually very active and does not stop talking about work even for a minute. Seeing him lying down and inactive is disturbing for the family.”
Parvin Dabas’ wife revealed that the actor was driving his car in the early hours of the morning after working all night. She added, “The flash of headlights caused him to crash his car into the median. Luckily, he was near the hospital and two boys rushed him there.”
Following the accident, speculations were rife that the actor may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time. Addressing these rumours, Preeti Jhangiani clarified that toxicology tests had been conducted and the results were negative, ruling out any possibility of drink driving. She said, “He was not driving under the influence of alcohol. The police report denies it. Parveen strictly prohibits drink driving or any other violation of rules.”
Parvin Dabas made his acting debut in the 1999 film Dillagi. The actor rose to fame with Mira Nair’s Monsoon Wedding, which released in 2001. Since then, he has appeared in numerous films, including Ragini MMS 2, Khosla Ka Ghosla and Hero: A Love Story of a Spy. Parvin has also appeared in Malayalam and Kannada films such as Ayyappanthamma Neyyappam Chuttu and Kanchana Ganga.
