Football legend Tom Brady took to his Instagram to share his morning workout routine to get ready for game day, this time for his new broadcasting job.
Though he may not be as ready to hit the field as he was during his 23-year football career, the famed quarterback continues to prioritize his fitness. Just weeks after recording his first bench press best in nearly two decades, Brady is back with another training update, this time showing off his morning routine with a sunrise workout photo in the background.
Brady revealed that he recently added swimming to his training regimen, writing in the caption of the post, “It provides great resistance for the muscles and a cardio workout at the same time.” He then detailed the session: First, he does four rounds of 100m freestyle as a warm-up, then moves on to speed training. Brady swims four rounds of 25m quickly, followed by a 25m recovery to catch his breath. Finally, he finishes by swimming a slightly longer distance in the pool, two rounds of 200m.
Back on land, he combined his swim with a circuit workout that worked his entire body with just three exercises. First, he did 20 weighted step-ups with a 35-pound dumbbell in each hand. Then he wrapped a heavy resistance band around his back and did 20 push-ups. To build up some power, he ended the circuit with 10 box jumps. He would repeat the entire circuit four times.
“Color analysts have to stay in shape too,” he joked in the post’s caption, and considering his size at 47, the photo seems to prove that the routine is working.
