Totti: “Returning to Serie A is no joke”
Francesco Totti is not joking about returning to play for a Serie A team but is “seriously” considering the possibility of resuming his football career.
The Roma legend retired in 2017 but recently claimed he could be back and ready within “two months” if any club contacts him.
Totti is currently not in the top 10 oldest players to have appeared in Serie A, but he will automatically be at the top of the list if he makes a competitive appearance for a top-flight club.
Totti’s return to Serie A will depend on how his body and mind communicate.
“I made it in time for the finals (of the EA7 World Legends Padel Tour),” he told reporters, as quoted by TMW.
“For Serie A, we are talking about at least two months of training, and that’s the timing. I’m not kidding, I thought about it seriously.

Asked if he already had a number of teams in mind as potential options, Totti replied: “Yes, one or two.”
“Now let’s see what my body and head tell me. My head already knows the answer, we’ll see about my body now.
“Who knows what will happen next year?”
Totti has completed his entire career with Roma and played his last game for Roma in the 2016-17 season, scoring 307 goals in 786 games. He won the Scudetto with the Giallorossi and played in the World Cup with the Italian national team in 2006, but then announced his retirement from international football.
