George Washington University alumnus Blessing Boma Douglas (MPA’20) received the Outstanding Recent Alumni Award from the Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Administration. The award recognizes graduates within the past 10 years who are in the early stages of their careers, have already distinguished themselves and are expected to achieve even more in the future.

Douglas has expertise in nonprofit management, community development, mental health advocacy consulting, and business development. She oversees subsidiary brands under the Boma Group. Douglas also strives to support vulnerable communities through her work with the Africa Foundation Boma Award and the Douglas Kintscroy Foundation for Mental Health in Nigeria.

Ms. Douglas is also the author of the book “Of Love and Bruises,” which encourages parents and guardians to break the cycle of abuse. This book advocates nurturing children with loving correction and effective communication to increase their self-esteem, strength, and confidence.
