The University of Southern Indiana will hold a Pre-Professional Medical Career Showcase for high school students on Saturday, Nov. 2, giving students a chance to explore medical careers such as physicians, dentists, pharmacists, physician assistants, optometrists, physical therapists, and chiropractors. We offer you the opportunity to learn more about the position. . At this event, high school students will network with practicing medical professionals, discuss career paths with medical professionals and USI faculty, and participate in breakout sessions designed to help prepare students interested in medical careers. Attend and interact with current students pursuing a career in medicine.
Participating students will also learn more about the pre-professional programs offered at USI, including pre-medical, pre-dental, pre-chiropractic, pre-optometry, pre-physician assistant, pre-pharmacy, and pre-physical therapy.
The event schedule for the showcase is as follows.
12:30pm – 1:15pm: Networking reception with practitioners and current students 1:15pm – 2:15pm: Medical expert panel 2:30pm – 4:00pm : Breakout session 4:00pm – 4:30pm Afternoon: Keynote address by Dr. Maria Strobel, pediatrician at Vanderbilt’s VIP Children’s Clinic.
