Deadline for pre-proposal applications is November 5th
SEATTLE (October 14, 2024) — The Washington State Wine Commission (WSWC) has opened the application period for next year’s viticulture and oenology research proposals. The Washington Wine Research Grant Portal is accepting new and continuing research grant applications for fiscal year 2026 (July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026). All new proposals must submit a pre-proposal application.
The Research Grants Portal tracks and manages applications for the Washington State Wine Commission’s own grant programs and the statewide grape and wine research programs administered by Washington State University. The Competitive Research Grants Program offers grants ranging from one-year demonstration projects to up to four years of research. Approximately $1 million in research grants are awarded each year.
The Washington Wine Commission’s grant program, launched in 2019, is designed to foster research collaborations with WSU and other wine regions and capitalize on research funding opportunities. The program offers one-year grants for practical, rapid applied winery and vineyard trials, proof-of-concept research ideas and interim grants. Grants from the Washington Wine Commission program are available to scientists at Washington State University, Washington Community College, researchers at out-of-state universities, and private companies and contractors.
The deadline for pre-proposal applications is November 5, 2024. Pre-proposals deemed worthy and relevant to the Washington wine industry by the Industry Review Committee will be invited to submit a full proposal by January 27, 2025.
Visit the Washington Wine Commission’s grants webpage to learn more about the grant program and download proposal and report templates.
