🏀 WNBA Finals Preview: Clash of the Titans

Championships sometimes play out David vs. Goliath stories, but the 2024 WNBA Finals will be a battle of the mightiest for the legendary title.
No. 1 vs. No. 2: The WNBA’s top two teams, the New York Liberty and Minnesota Lynx, begin a best-of-five final in Brooklyn tonight (8 p.m. ET, ESPN).
The Liberty (32-8), which defeated the two-time defending champion Aces to advance to the finals for the second year in a row, has the league’s second-best offense and third-best defense, allowing a WNBA-best 10.1 three-pointers per game. I hit. This season’s games.
The Lynx (30-10) won 14 of their final 16 games in their first 30-win season, boasting the league’s second-best defense and leading the WNBA in both assists and 3-point percentage.

20 years ago today, the Patriots beat the Dolphins, winning 19 straight games (including the playoffs) and breaking the record for the longest winning streak in NFL history.
Great results! The streak began in Week 5 of 2003, included a Super Bowl victory, and finally ended in Week 8 of 2004 after a 21-game winning streak. Following the Week 8 loss, they now lose just one more game all season en route to their second straight Super Bowl.
Their 21-game winning streak remains the longest in league history, two more than the 2010-11 Packers, who won 19 straight.
His longest active record is 11 consecutive wins with the Chiefs. To beat the Patriots, they need to win every week from now until Christmas.
Fun fact: The Pats’ record-breaking win came on the least productive day of Tom Brady’s career. Although he threw for two touchdowns (which, admittedly, was productive), he was only 7-19 with 76 yards and one pick. This is his lowest completion percentage (36.84%) and second-fewest yards in 333 career starts.

It’s been quite a week in the Beehive State. On Tuesday, the Utah Hockey Club won its first game in front of a sold-out crowd in Salt Lake City. Today, the PGA Tour returns to Utah for the first time since 1963 when the Black Desert Championship starts 30 miles west of Zion National Park.
