The Cincinnati Bengals are scheduled to play the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, a series that has been a huge favorite for Cincinnati over the years.
Sunday will be the 15th time the Bengals and Eagles will meet, and the first time since 2020. Of the past 14 meetings, the Bengals have won nine and the Eagles have won three. Two of the past four meetings have ended in draws. The 2020 game ended in a 23-23 tie, and the 2008 game ended in a 13-13 tie (Donovan McNabb’s famous speech about not knowing the game could end in a tie). .
The Bengals haven’t lost to the Eagles since Christmas Eve 2000, when the Eagles won 16-7. The Bengals also won in 2004 (January 2005), 2012, and 2016, and along with those two ties, they have a five-game unbeaten streak against Philadelphia.
Also, the important thing is that the Bengals have never lost to the Eagles at home. Sunday will be just the sixth time the Eagles will visit Cincinnati. The Bengals are 4-0-1 at home against the Eagles.
It’s not a matchup that you see very often, but historically it’s a matchup that favors the Bengals very much.
