Stuart will be responsible for establishing BestEx Research’s footprint in the region and introducing the company’s execution algorithms to the APAC market.

Stuart Baden-Powell joins BestEx Research with over 20 years of experience in electronic equities and futures trading in the EU and Asia-Pacific. Prior to this new role, Stuart was Head of Asia Electronic Execution at Macquarie where he expanded the company’s electronic execution business in Asia, improved the breadth and depth of its product stack, and developed a consultative approach to support new and existing clients. Stuart previously served as Executive Director at JP Morgan where he was responsible for Asia-Pacific electronic distribution of physical equities and futures products. He began his career at RBC Capital Markets in London, eventually leading the company’s European electronic trading business. He played a key role in the rollout and early client adoption of the company’s patented THOR product for clients trading European markets. In his previous leadership roles, Stuart combined client partnerships with growth and innovation and is now positioned to do the same at BestEx Research. He holds a BA from the University of Southampton, as well as Masters degrees from the London School of Economics and Business School and Durham University Business School. Stuart is also a graduate of the Stanford Executive Programme at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
