Picking the Cincinnati Bengals vs. Philadelphia Eagles game for Week 8 isn’t easy.
Both teams got off to tough starts, despite expectations that they could be in contention for the top seed in their respective conferences.
The Bengals got off to an 0-3 start before getting back on track. The Eagles won their first four games with a 2-2 record and defeated the Cleveland Browns by just four points in Week 6.
But now experts like CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco think the Bengals will win on Sunday:
Both of these teams seem to have corrected their slow starts. The Eagles have back-to-back road games, a challenge after winning a divisional game last week. Philadelphia’s defense will challenge Joe Burrow and the passing game. Look for Burrow for your big day. The Bengals will match the record.
The Bengals are at home with an advantage and are looking even better on the defensive side of the ball, especially in the trenches.
But…against the elite front sevens of the New York Giants and Browns, the offense has regressed over the past two weeks. Currently, starting left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. is injured, and the Eagles also happen to have some strong pass rushers.
It’s certainly a winnable game, especially with Joe Burrow under center, but it’s no wonder the NFL picks and odds remain close for both teams.
