NBA changes final score of Warriors vs. Blazers after admitting error originally broadcast on NBC Sports Bay Area
Well, this doesn’t happen every day.
The NBA acknowledged Thursday that a mistake was made in the Warriors’ big season-opening win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday at Moda Center.
The error occurred with 2:00 left in the third quarter when Golden State guard De’Anthony Melton was at the free throw line. He made one of two free throws, but he and the Warriors were disallowed on one.
Golden State led 91-67 on Melton’s first free throw attempt and ultimately won 139-104. As announced by the league, the game has been updated to reflect the correct score of 140-104, and the stat line for Melton’s Warriors debut now includes all 11 of his points.
The Dubs would get the extra point, but they didn’t need it.
Superstar Warriors guard Stephen Curry had 17 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds, and wing Buddy Hield made 5 of 7 3-pointers in his Golden State debut and had 22 points off the bench. was recorded.
