Salary: $31,200-$36,000 per year
Teaching Assistant – Health Sciences
The Health Science Teaching Assistant will support the Lecturer in teaching in the Health Sciences area and the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing. In addition to the general administrative duties of a Lecturer, this candidate will manage various budgets and order supplies necessary to keep the department running smoothly.
Qualifications
· Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and use of a variety of office equipment including fax machines, copiers, scanners and telephone systems.
· Excellent typing, public relations, communication and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
· Working knowledge of Datatel Colleague systems preferred
Working conditions
A typical office environment
· Frequent sitting and standing at a desk or workstation using a telephone, computer, keyboard and mouse, with occasional standing and walking.
Primary Functions and Responsibilities
Duties of a Health Sciences Teaching Assistant include but are not limited to:
Plan and schedule meetings and appointments
Organize and manage your files
Sending information via telephone, post and email
· Organize and manage files including receiving program applications, utilizing data from Datatel systems, and scanning documents.
Greet students and visitors
Respond to requests for information over the telephone
Spreadsheet creation, document creation, database management
Placement evaluation schedule
Coordination with other departments within the university
Process budget requests and manage budget data
·Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
