The University of California (UC) recently selected Labviva, the leading AI procurement platform for life sciences, to enhance procurement efficiency and research-related purchasing across all UC campuses. Labviva’s first deployment will occur at UC San Diego in 2022, with UC Merced going live in September 2024.
UC needed a solution that could connect to the procurement technologies of its 10 campuses, six academic medical centers, and three national laboratories. Labviva’s intuitive platform can operate as a standalone solution or directly integrate into leading procurement systems, including Jaggaer, Oracle Procurement Cloud, SAP Ariba, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and Coupa. Additionally, Labviva helps UC’s research operations optimize purchasing, speed fulfillment, maintain compliance, and improve visibility into the procurement process.
By next year, UC aims to allocate 25% of eligible spend to certified small and diverse businesses. Labviva’s highly configurable platform also allows each UC campus to customize search results and specify which suppliers to feature and when, allowing purchasing professionals to make research choices that best align with UC’s values and goals. Labviva’s real-time purchasing analytics dashboard graphs spend by category, vendor, user, time period and project, providing accurate reporting on UC spending.
The UC agreement with Labviva has an initial term of three years, with a two-year renewal option at UC’s discretion. Additionally, the award to Labviva, a certified small business, highlights UC’s commitment to supporting small and diverse businesses.
